Kelim Senneh Rug

Senneh is the old name of the modern city of Sanandaj. The rugs originating from the city and from nomads or farmers in the surrounding region are known as Senneh rugs. These double-sided kilims feature the typical slit weave. They often display small patterns with designs such as bouquets of roses, rows of trees or floral motifs. Traditional Mahi motifs can also appear, as well as a large central field, often with a rhombus in varying colors.
